Subsidy for Urban Revitalization: New business Establishments in Key Industries

This program is designed to cover a portion of costs for the building of new key industry facilities in the city.

Qualifying areas Osaka City
Qualifying businesses Businesses located in the city that fall into the category of key industries* (as designated by the city) and that are planning to build/own qualifying facilities in Osaka City.
* Key industries are as follows: medical care and social welfare, lifestyle and culture, information and communications, the environment, personnel, biotechnology and nanotechnology, and robot technology
Major conditions
  • The business must have been in operation for approximately as a year or longer, and the majority of transactions take place a qualifying key industry.
  • Total floor space (only that used by the business) of the proposed facility must exceed 1,000 m2.
  • The qualifying business must have five or more regular employees, and the total number of regular employees based in the city should be set to rise once the business is established in Osaka.
  • The business has sound management, and has established an appropriate project plan for the five years subsequent to establishment.
  • A project plan must be submitted to the city by the end of March 2009 (prior to commencement of construction); construction must commence by the end of March 2010; and the project must be launched by the end of December 2011.
Qualifying costs Capital investment for buildings and facilities (for use for the business only)
Amount is limited to a maximum of エ200,000/m2 of floor space.
Amount of assistance Up to 5% of qualifying costs (up to エ300 million)
